Customer Service & Retention AI

Tidio (Lyro AI)

Tidio is live chat and AI customer service software for ecommerce teams. It helps stores answer shopping questions, handle support requests, and pass conversations to a person when needed. Customer Service gives agents a shared inbox, Lyro AI Agent answers from the store's support knowledge, and Flows runs predefined messages and questions. When handoffs are configured, a team can continue a shopper's conversation with its earlier context.

Buying view: Tidio is a practical option for smaller teams that want live chat, ticketing, proactive flows, and a Lyro AI agent in one support workspace. Human conversations, Lyro conversations, and visitors reached by Flows use separate quotas, so the combined monthly load matters more than any single entry price.

Capabilities

Tidio helps ecommerce teams handle three everyday jobs: bring customer questions into one inbox, answer repeat questions automatically, and start predefined conversations while shoppers browse the site. Customer Service, Lyro AI Agent, and Flows handle those jobs respectively. Its practical advantage is the handoff between automation and people: when an automated route should stop, the previous conversation can remain available to the agent who continues the work.

What problem it addresses

Store teams need to decide which questions belong in a shared human queue, which repeat questions AI can answer, and which predictable website moments should launch a predefined message.

How people use it

Customer Service manages human conversations and tickets, Lyro answers from maintained support knowledge, and Flows follows triggers and preset steps. Each product can run separately; when a handoff is configured, the earlier conversation can move into the Customer Service inbox for an agent to continue.

How Customer Service, Lyro AI Agent, and Flows handle a shopper interaction

Tidio's three core products can be purchased separately or bundled. Enabled routes can run independently, while configured handoffs let Flows or Lyro move a conversation into the Customer Service inbox.

Flows follows triggers and fixed paths; Lyro uses support knowledge for less predictable questions; Customer Service gives the team an inbox, assignment, ticket, and status workflow. One interaction does not have to pass through all three products.

Each route can be enabled separately; one interaction may use more than one route when a handoff is configured.

How the team uses each Tidio product

Customer Service: keep customer questions in one place and make ownership visible

Customer Service is useful when agents would otherwise switch among website chat, email, and connected social channels. The team connects its service channels, adds agents, and sets assignment rules when needed. Incoming questions enter the Tidio inbox, where an agent can claim the conversation or assign it to a colleague. A question that needs continued follow-up can become a ticket: a trackable support task with an owner, history, and status.

After taking ownership, the agent can review the existing conversation, reply, add an internal note, or pass the work to a more suitable colleague. Email tickets can also be marked as waiting for the customer or solved. These states let the team see which questions are unassigned, in progress, waiting, or finished.

Lyro AI Agent: answer first, then pass the conversation to a person when needed

Lyro can take on repeat questions such as delivery times and return rules. The team first supplies accurate help articles, website content, and frequently asked questions, then chooses the channels where Lyro may answer and sets its human-handoff rules. When a shopper asks a question, Lyro uses that material and recent conversation context to compose a response.

A task that needs store-specific information, such as checking an order status, also requires the corresponding configured operation, which Tidio calls an Action. If the shopper asks for a person or Lyro cannot answer, the configured handoff can pass the full conversation or create a ticket containing its transcript. The team therefore needs to maintain the source knowledge and decide which questions should go directly to a person.

Flows: define a repeatable reception path and run it at the right moment

Flows is useful when a store wants to greet shoppers on a chosen page, ask a few questions to understand their needs, or collect contact details. The operator starts from a template or builds a flow, then specifies when it starts, which message appears, and what should happen after each shopper choice.

When its conditions are met, the Flow sends the arranged messages, shows buttons, asks questions, or collects a form. Some store actions need the matching integration, including Shopify add-to-cart triggers and discount-code actions. A Flow can also assign a conversation to a person; the operator needs to add the relevant action when the team should be notified.

Example: how an apparel store can use all three products

An apparel store can use a Flow when a shopper opens the size-guide page, showing a predefined help option. If the shopper instead asks about the return policy, Lyro can answer from the store's maintained policy when Lyro is enabled and no configured Flow is handling that message. When the shopper asks the team to process an actual exchange, a configured handoff can place the conversation and its earlier context in Customer Service for an agent to continue. These are independently enabled routes: finishing a Flow does not automatically send the shopper to Lyro, and one interaction does not have to pass through all three products.

Concepts used in these workflows

Ticket

A support task that keeps its owner, conversation history, and handling status visible until the team finishes the follow-up.

Lyro Action

An operation configured for Lyro to use a connected business system, such as checking an order status. The required connection and Action must be set up before Lyro can perform it.

Flow trigger and condition

A trigger decides when a Flow starts; conditions use information or shopper choices to decide which configured branch runs next.

Frequently asked questions

What is Tidio used for in an online store?

Tidio chat brings shopper questions into a shared support workspace. Agents use live chat and tickets to reply, Lyro answers questions from the store's knowledge, and Flows can greet visitors or collect contact details through predefined steps. The team chooses which routes to enable and when an automated conversation should reach a person.

Is the Tidio AI chatbot the same as Flows?

Lyro AI Agent generates answers from the support knowledge assigned to it. Flows follows triggers, conditions and preset messages, so the operator defines what happens after each choice. Tidio Live Chat lets a human agent reply directly. Lyro and Flows can hand conversations to the team when the corresponding handoff is configured; they do not require a fixed sequence.

How does Tidio pricing work when Lyro and Flows are included?

Tidio pricing uses three separate usage measures: billable conversations handled by the team, Lyro AI conversations, and visitors reached by Flows. The calculator estimates their combined cost for the selected monthly or annual billing option. The plan table explains Customer Service benefits. Higher usage can require a custom quote, and Lyro's introductory allowance is separate from a recurring subscription.

Is Tidio free, and does the free plan include Lyro AI?

Tidio's free plan includes 50 billable conversations and 100 visitors reached by Flows each month. The initial 50 Lyro AI conversations are a one-off allowance, not 50 new AI conversations every month. A recurring Lyro subscription is required for an AI allowance that renews. The seven-day trial of paid features is also separate from the ongoing free plan.

Can Tidio be added to Shopify or WordPress without coding?

Tidio provides a Shopify app and a WordPress plugin for adding its chat widget. After installation, the team connects its Tidio account and configures the widget and the support routes it wants to use. Installing the widget does not prepare Lyro's knowledge or design Flows: those need the store's content, messages and routing choices.

How does the Tidio Mailchimp integration collect subscribers?

Tidio can send contacts who have opted in to a Mailchimp list. Subscription consent can be collected in the pre-chat survey or a Flow subscription step, and an agent can update a contact's subscription status during a chat. Mailchimp then handles the email marketing; the Tidio connection supplies the opted-in contact information.

Is there a Tidio app for replying away from a computer?

Tidio offers mobile apps as well as browser and desktop access, so agents can continue customer conversations on a phone. This is the team's support interface; shoppers use the chat widget on the store's website.

Where can merchants read Tidio reviews?

The User reviews section includes G2, Capterra and Shopify App Store comments, with author details, ratings, dates and links to the original reviews. Shopify feedback covers the Tidio app on that platform. The Trustpilot tab links to Tidio's company profile and shows its review count; individual Trustpilot comments are available on the source site.

Native connections

Zendesk AITidio conversations → Zendesk tickets

Agents can create a Zendesk ticket from a Tidio chat with the visitor's details, message history, notes, and priority. The connection uses Zendesk's ticketing surface; it does not mean Tidio invokes every Zendesk AI capability. Tidio lists it for all plans.

Tidio: Zendesk AI integration
IntercomIntercom conversations, users, and history → Tidio tickets

A guided migration in Tidio imports selected Intercom conversations, users, and message history as Tidio tickets, so the team can continue from one inbox. This is a migration route rather than an ongoing two-way inbox sync. Tidio lists it for all plans.

Tidio: Intercom integration
FreshdeskTidio conversations → Freshdesk tickets

Tidio conversations can become trackable Freshdesk tickets with customer contact details, while Freshdesk routing, SLA, and escalation rules control follow-up. Tidio currently lists this connection for Premium and Plus plans.

Tidio: Brevo integration
Google AnalyticsTidio chat, widget, and Flow events → Google Analytics

Tidio can send chat, Flow, widget-interaction, and lead-submission events to Google Analytics, where the team can include them in funnel and conversion reporting. Tidio lists it for all plans.

Qualtrics XMClosed Tidio chats ↔ Qualtrics survey responses

A closed Tidio chat can trigger a Qualtrics survey, while a detractor response can open a Tidio conversation with the answers attached. The connection covers the Qualtrics survey workflow represented on the Qualtrics XM page; availability depends on the Tidio plan.

Exact Tidio customer support platform profile, including reviews that may discuss Lyro AI Agent or Flows.

Best live-chat I've ever used.

There are many upsides to using Tidio, such as their affordable price offers and the number of functions they provide to make your company look even more professional and organized. Their pricing still continues to impress! Their AI enhanced features are real cheap when compared to competitors but never fail to amaze. It may happen that Tidio's integrated chatbot could sometimes provide wrong answers, but considering it's an AI, it's outstanding. As it still does its job and helps us reduce the number of employees needed to provide support to all of our customers. Overall still really handy, and integrated new introduced tech to the AI market seamlessly. I'm grateful to Tidio as, so far, it has helped me so much with all the integrated tips that guide me on how to be a better employee and look even more professional than before.

Tidio has fallen behind in AI

On the positive side, Tidio is extremely easy to install and set up. The process is quick, intuitive, and requires very little technical knowledge, so you can have the chat working on your website in just a few minutes. Tidio used to be a useful and innovative platform, but it now feels outdated, especially when it comes to artificial intelligence. Compared with newer AI-powered customer service tools, its chatbot capabilities are limited, the automations feel too rigid, and the conversations are not as natural or intelligent as expected. AI technology has advanced very quickly, but Tidio does not seem to have evolved at the same pace. The platform needs a major update to remain competitive and justify its price. To have on control all the conversations we have on our website, it´s very easy to control all the open conversations and clasify them.

Efficient Customer Engagement, Easy Setup

I like Tidio because it allows me to track all chats whenever needed and search for anyone I have engaged with. It helps me keep track of the number of active chats and the chats that have been closed, checking on productivity. Tidio provides functionality to assign specific chats to individuals, and if a chat is closed, it can be reopened by someone else, eliminating the need to create multiple tickets. I appreciate that I can respond using the same ticket, which is a fantastic feature. Unlike other platforms like Freshworks, Zoho, or HubSpot, Tidio stands out. Automations ensure customers get a response 24/7 without always needing to be at the chat. Setting it up was 'easy peasy lemon squeezy'. The ability to go back to any chat, keep an eye on interactions, and integrate automation is invaluable. All these features make Tidio great for managing customer inquiries. There is nothing as such that i dont like instead i am pretty happy with everyhting I use Tidio to manage customer inquiries, tracking chats, searching engagements, reassigning chats, and automating responses. It helps maintain productivity and ensures no interaction is left unresolved, offering 24/7 customer response capability.
